searching_for_truth

Life is a series of delusions and glittering distractions intent on making us forgetful to the reasons why we are here and what we must do with our life. Absolute Truth and truthful living are made hard when people, instead of looking to Heaven for guidance like the desert traveller, look down to earth and get lost in an endless sea of shifting sand dunes and mirages and in the process get caught in the trap of materialism. http://searching_for_truth.blogspot.com/

Sa'di

Muslihuddin Abu Muhammad Abdullah ibn Mushrifuddin Sa'di(1200-1292)

Astride a horse I am not,
nor camel-like carry a load,
Subjects I have none,
nor follow any sultan's code;
I worry not for what exists,
nor fret for what is lost,
I breathe with extreme ease,
and live at very little cost.

Of one Essence is the human race,
Thusly has Creation put the Base;
One Limb impacted is sufficient,
For all Others to feel the Mace.

A bad wife comes with a good man to dwell:
She soon converts his pleasant world to hell.
Beware of evil partnership, beware:
From hellish torment, Lord, thy servant spare!

I never lamented about the vicissitude of time or complained of the turns of fortune, except on the occasion when I was barefooted and unable to procure slippers. But when I entered the great mosque of Kufah with a sore heart, and beheld a man without feet, I offered thanks to the bounty of God, consoled myself for my want of shoes.

In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Laudation is due the most High, the most Glorious, Whose worship bridges the Gap and Whose recognition breeds beneficence. Each breath inhaled sustains life, exhaled imparts rejuvenation. Two blessings in each breath, each due a separate salutation.

Whose hand can properly offer and whose tongue,
The salutation due Him, and not be wrong?
